Introducing the prototype night fly the “Night Hawk”
It will be put to the test tonight on the Upper Man.

Night Hawk
Hook: Bass 8089 TMC
Tail: Deer Hair
Body: Estaz or Cactus Chenille
Wing Case: Foam
Wings: Deer Hair
I also us Zap-a-Gap on the wings and head to help the fly push a bit more water. Tie the bug in Black, Yellow and Olive. It would also make a great bass fly.

Here is a very cool way to tie hackle on to a piece of mono to create a sweet little dry fly. You could tie all of your small may flies be changing the body color, hook size and hackle.
The video is from the Head Hunters Fly Shop on the Missouri River in Craig, MT. Nice little pattern!

Here is a quick video on how to tie the Sparrow Nymph. It’s one of my favorite patterns for Steelhead here in Michigan. I tie them with a natural pheasant rump with olive dubbing or tan. Also, I use the died pheasant rumps to create some quick fish catching patterns.
