Here is a report from our good friend Jeff Hubbard: Outfitters North

The Pere Marquette River water level is coming down and clearing. Trout fishing has been decent, some days are better then others. A lot of the fish are pretty fat and full with all that rain we had over a week ago. Started to take some nicer fish towards the end of the week. Streamer fishing was the method of choice last week with the higher dirtier water. Dry Fly fishing should be in full swing though this week as the water is clearing and we are seeing some Gray Drakes and Sulphurs now. Look for these hatches to really take off with the warmer weather forecasted. If interested in some summertime Trout fishing I have these days left in June. June 18,19,26,27. Call Jeff @ (231) 898-6246

Click to Buy

Since the introduction of the textured lines by SA a few years ago we have seen some interesting developments to improve the general design of these lines. The Orvis Hydros 3D lines utilize the additional on-stream development that eliminated the finger splitting “bite” of previous attempts and make this a great alternative to a traditional line. The first thing I noticed is that the lines come in the fish friendly Orvis color palettes that are standard with other line series. The olive is a winner for much needed stealth on spooky trout. The next thing noticed is the New “Line ID” that is present on all new ORVIS Lines. A great alternative to trying to remember where you put the ID sticker or what line is on each reel. Function wise the line gives even the average caster an additional 10 to 15 feet of distance. The texture of the line adds slickness that helps shoot line that extra distance, without being abrasive to the touch like other lines. The texture of the line and integrated tip not only helps the caster achieve distance and accuracy, but add the additional benefit of floating much higher than a traditional line. While the line gives everything a caster would want and more, one drawback common with the textured lines is the “space-age” humming through the guides. As with most equipment obstacles this can be quickly overcome with the lift of the line and a fish at the other end. Also don’t forget all ORVIS lines are now packaged with environmentally friendly packaging, no more plastic ending up in landfills.

If you are willing to venture into the 21st century of fly line, Hydros 3D is the line for you. As always, it is one of our many products that is backed by our “30-Day on the Water fishing Guarantee”. Give the line a shot today, you will not be disappointed. CLICK HERE TO BUY
