Don’t Forget Smallmouth
With many anglers out and about chasing trout...the Smallmouth bite has been starting to turn on. Right now is the perfect time to go out and take advantage of the early catch and release season. Warm water fishing is starting to pick up with temps being more consistent, you don't have to drive far to find decent fishing, here are a couple fish caught in the last week right here in the Lansing/Okemos area. Swing by the shop for fly recommendations . Get out and FISH!
Michigan Brook Trout
Slick Nick from the shop and his side kick Corso were up chasing trout this past weekend and managed to pick up a trophy Michigan Brooky on an Olive Wooly Bugger on un-named stream.
Got to love the Olive Wooly Bugger.

Weekend Trout
With the rains around the state water levels were up and colored a bit. This set up the perfect opportunity to toss streamers...although nothing "big" managed to hit the net many anglers had lots of fish chasing all day long.
We also saw this first few Sulphurs of the year come off but the water was a bit to colored up to get any dry fly action going. Make sure to stock up on some yellow bug for the next few weeks to come.
