Helios Review

For those of you who were looking to take advantage of the Nomad deal for a free Large Arbor with the purchase of a Helios rod, here is the review you have been looking for.  This rod is incredible.  It can cast left, right, up, down, standing, sitting, and many other wonderful directions.  If you are looking for that rod to conquer the salt, this is your serious choice.  Had a chance to fish the 8 wt. and 10 wt. in Mexico last winter and the rods were a dream.  Bonefish and Permit beware.  Probably would help if there were some visible fish around however.

Take advantage of this great deal:Click here for more about the Orvis Helios

Hackle Stacker – Dry Fly Pattern

Here is a very cool way to tie hackle on to a piece of mono to create a sweet little dry fly.  You could tie all of your small may flies be changing the body color, hook size and hackle.

The video is from the Head Hunters Fly Shop on the Missouri River in Craig, MT.   Nice little pattern!

Sparrow Nymph – Fly Pattern How To

Here is a quick video on how to tie the Sparrow Nymph.  It's one of my favorite patterns for Steelhead here in Michigan.  I tie them with a natural pheasant rump with olive dubbing or tan.  Also, I use the died pheasant rumps to create some quick fish catching patterns.
