June 19, 2018 - HEX!
Summer is officially in full swing. Blazing hot weather across the state has kicked us into the pinnacle of dry fly fishing in Michigan... Hexagenia limbata.
HEX are fluttering around state wide at this point. Rivers downstate are in the mid to late stages of the hatch, while rivers further North are on the front end of the hatch. Those that got out last weekend had some success finding bugs, and a few nice fish. As the week progresses things should pick up, and by the weekend hex should be going strong up North. While Hex are the headliners, Iso fishing earlier in the evening has also been good.
Locally the warm water bite has been picking up. Streamers and poppers for bass and pike are a great day time option.
