Warm days are back and the bugs are here to stay! Dry fly season has gotten off to a good start with a good number of bugs showing up and some bigger trout working those bugs, its been a lot of fun. Hendricksons are winding down up north, but brown bugs and sulfurs are next up on the menu. Similar story downstate on the west side. Hendrickson winding down, lots of caddis, march browns and sulphurs are right around the corner with the warmer weather in the forecast. If you are heading out this weekend make sure you got some sort of brown bug, or caddis on and you will do just fine!
Smallies are firing right now! With a little pit of pre spawn smallie fishing left over before they go full spawn mode and we wait for the post spawn bite its the time to get out there and look for a big one! They are eating big baits right now which makes life so much more fun targeting them! If you are heading out over the weekend think big and bright! Game changers this time of the year can be the best way to get a big fish to eat. Bright colors and larger profile bite wont last for long so get out there and chase those bronze backs!
Like Always good luck and have fun!
