Nymphs, Steelhead Flies -

This is the almighty Clown Egg. It can be tied in a wide array of color combos, but this one has been reliable for us on most days. Pink, Steelhead Orange, McCheese, and Golden McFly Foam is a really nice combo. Mix and match different colored foam to your liking, but this mix has been a standard in our boxes for years.  MATERIALS:(+) add to cart Pink Mcflyfoam (+)Steelhead Orange Mcflyfoam (+)McCheese Mcflyfoam (+)Golden Mcflyfoam (+)Gamakatsu C14S #6 (+)Veevus 100D GSP (+) --> ADD ALL TO CART <-- Join 4 strands together, and cut into 1 inch segments.  Very important that you use Gel Spun Thread for...

Behold - the Hotcore Hex. This is a fairly easy hex nymph imitation that has a bit of flare for dirty water. Steelhead love accent colors, like hotspots, fluorescent tags, etc etc. Seems like a natural color base with a touch of brightness can really excite them. Also works well with different core colors, such as pink, peach, yellow, or even blue. Hope you like it.  MATERIALS: (+) add to cart Hook: 1530 sz 6 (+)Thread: Tan Uni 3/0 (+)Tail: Black Barred Gold Variant Rabbit Strips (+) Or Sand Variant Rabbit Strips (+)Gills & Legs: Pheasant Rump (+) and/or India Hen Back (+)Wingcase: Turkey Tail (+)or Thin...

Nymphs, Steelhead Flies -

This is a general purpose Steelhead fly that works all year. It's like a subsurface steelhead stimulator. Also good with a chartreuse head. Works great as the bottom fly on an indicator rig, since you can swing it out at the end of your drift.  MATERIALS:(+) add to cart Hook: Daichii 1530 sz 4 (+)Thread: 6/0 Uni Tan, Orange, or Brown (+)Tail: Grizzly Marabou Tan (+)Rib: Copper Wire Med (+)Body: Ice Dub Pheasant Tail (+)Legs: Brown Mallard Flank (+)Head: Steelhead Orange McflyFoam (+) --> ADD ALL TO CART <-- Start with a thread base, run it back to the hook bend. This is the KRILLA. It's a pseudo shrimp/krill type fly that imitates some of the food items Steelhead eat in Lake Michigan. Apparently they forage on species of freshwater shrimp in the big lake. I've only heard rumors of this, and not sure if it's even true. But either way, this fly works. It's something different they have never seen, and looks very edible to the eye of a fish. I've kept this thing under wraps for 2 years now, but have decided to share it. Hope you like it.  MATERIALS:(+) add to cart Hook: 1530 sz 8 (+)Thread: Veevus 6/0 Fl. Orange (+)Eyes:...
