So many fishing options available right now, it will make your head spin. It's hard to pick just one species, and one tactic to focus on for a day. Water temps are increasing daily, and it's feeling "fishier" lately. Despite the massive rain we got two nights ago, things should be fine by the weekend, but wading in certain areas may be tricky. July 31, 2018 - Lansing Fishing Report
Michigan’s current dry spell has made the local fishing hit or miss. We are still picking up smallmouth bass near structure and pike in slower moving spots. Top flies for smallmouth have been desperate Housewives and BoogleBugs. Chartreuse and White seem to be the top two fly colors. With such dry weather the mosquitoes haven’t been terrible making it easier to jump in the Red Cedar and Looking Glass Rivers.
