Steelhead fishing is improving daily, and the weather looks promising. The Grand River is still fishing well, and will only get better. Looks like there is a good amount of rain headed our way tonight, so fishing will likely be great by the weekend. Egg flies in Apricot, Golden, and Creams are great options, as well as swinging. As you probably know by now, our salmon season was fantastic this year. Lots of huge fish were caught, many more were lost. Salmon are here! The high water brought in a wave of fresh Kings, Coho, and a few Steelhead. The sixth street dam is loaded with fish, as well as anglers. They are moving upstream at a steady pace. It sounds crazy after all that flooding two weeks ago, but we could actually use another shot of rain. But regardless of that, fishing has been awesome. September is truly an incredible time to be an angler in Michigan.  Northern rivers have plenty of fish, and they are just starting to spawn. Looks like it will be a great season with lots...

Although it's not officially gone, this Summer was overall pretty awesome. Trout were great before the dry spell, and smallmouth carried us through the rest. Now we are prepping for Autumn, and all it's splendor. Crisp mornings, vibrant colors, and leaping chrome.  Sounds like there are some King Salmon at 6th Street, as well as a few Steelhead. Trout fishing has improved with the rain and cooler overnight lows. Nymphing and hopper fishing is productive for trout around the state. Rubberleg buggers, baitfish patterns, and frogs are producing well for Smallmouth.
