Warm days are back and the bugs are here to stay! Dry fly season has gotten off to a good start with a good number of bugs showing up and some bigger trout working those bugs, its been a lot of fun. With it now being almost the middle July we say goodbye to our big bug season of hatches, but don't be sad we now move into some fun mid day dry fly fishing... the famous terrestrial season is hot and heavy. Summer nights are officially here and trout fishing has been steadily improving. Bugs are in the air and trout are rising in the evening with regularity, finally. Average high temperatures this week are close to those typically found in mid July, and our rivers are running low and clear. Nevertheless, fish are being caught and great memories are being made!

The hex hatch is a unique experience in Northern Michigan that can drive someone crazy.
