 Well Fall is here and in full swing... From the temp drop, leaves changing colors, and oh ya Kings, Coho, and Steelhead are in hot and heavy! With the lack of water across the state it's been tough trying to fight the low gin clear water.  The name of the game right now is huge attractor patterns or tiny subtle patterns to get bites, whether that be blob eggs to size 8 McFly foam eggs but for the most part the key is fishing lighter line such as 10 lb. to get bites more often.  The rigs my clients and myself...

It's that time of the year again, the Salmon are back and are in full swing of things. Rivers across the state are filled with Kings and Cohos on their yearly trip to spawn. For rivers local to Grand Rapids ( Rogue, and the Grand) we have found a perfect drift with an indicator set up has been the ticket to landing kings, Cohos, and browns! With it now being almost the middle July we say goodbye to our big bug season of hatches, but don't be sad we now move into some fun mid day dry fly fishing... the famous terrestrial season is hot and heavy. Wow when did Michigan become so hot... With this huge heat wave and little to no rain the fishing has become tough but not impossible. We have been really watching the water temps for the last 3 weeks with a close eye due to water temps being around 68-70 degrees or higher everyday in most rivers on the west side of the state. Remember if water temps are hotter than 68 leave the trout alone and go chase bass, the trout aren't going anywhere trust me.
