The changing of seasons is upon us. I don’t know about you all, but it felt like a long summer. I’m looking forward to some cooler temps, migratory fish, and all of the other activities that the fall season brings. We are capping off the summer season mousing… There’s still a week or two left depending on what weather windows get thrown our way. Keep a look out for those few warm nights that are still to come - hopefully they coincide with a couple moon phases. We’ve seen good nights and bad, sometimes the windows are super short -...

It’s officially fall despite the weather acting as if it’s late June. We got a couple small shots of rain which were much needed, but still not enough. Despite low, clear water there have been some great opportunities for trout. With increased river traffic focused on the salmon, the night bite is still rolling. Don’t stray away from the larger mouse patterns this time of year, it can help weed out a few of the smaller fish. With the upcoming forecast of cooler nights and a big temp swing during the day, I’d expect the mousing to fall off. But...

A few of us got out over the holiday weekend, and despite the heavy canoe traffic, low clear water and blue skies, the Trout fishing was decent. We caught several Trout on nymphs out of faster pocket water. Stoneflies and soft hackles were the main producers. We didn't roll a ton of fish on mice, but...

Just a Quick Little Steelhead And Brown Trout Fishing Report to give you all an idea of whats going on out on the water! Waters getting low and so are the temps, with the huge drop in temperature so quick it has slowed down the fishing, but dont worry it should pick up once the temps stable out and stay cold. If you are headed out for trout, try streamers in the 3-5 inch, in colors like black, yellow, and purple. If you want to nymph we were throwing euro style eggs, sexy waltz, and mid tags. Steelhead fishing is...

Well Fall is here and in full swing... From the temp drop, leaves changing colors, and oh ya Kings, Coho, and Steelhead are in hot and heavy! With the lack of water across the state it's been tough trying to fight the low gin clear water. The name of the game right now is huge attractor patterns or tiny subtle patterns to get bites, whether that be blob eggs to size 8 McFly foam eggs but for the most part the key is fishing lighter line such as 10 lb. to get bites more often. The rigs my clients and myself...
