A few of us got out over the holiday weekend, and despite the heavy canoe traffic, low clear water and blue skies, the Trout fishing was decent. We caught several Trout on nymphs out of faster pocket water. Stoneflies and soft hackles were the main producers. Mousing continues to produce in rivers that aren't over-run with Salmon, although the lower water levels exposed the weeds on the surface and it was tricky to put the fly in the right spot on the inside bends without getting weeds on the fly. Bugs bugs bugs! Hennies are falling, fish are eating, there’s not much else to say besides go fishing it’s dry fly season! But in all seriousness this fishing report is going to be short and sweet, the weather is finally playing out like it should in May. We have had good warm up in temps which is helping us so much with bugs right now. The rogue river is on fire with tons of caddis, BWOs, and hennies falling it’s been fun guiding dry fly stuff after a long cold winter. The caddis have been in the 12-14 size range,...
