So Michigan did Michigan things again over the last 2 weeks... From 20 inches of snow and -10 degrees, to rain and highs in the 50s. But here at the shop we aren't complaining because we needed the water bad. With all the melt off and rain, every river across the state got a much needed bump in flows.  Well Fall is here and in full swing... From the temp drop, leaves changing colors, and oh ya Kings, Coho, and Steelhead are in hot and heavy! With the lack of water across the state it's been tough trying to fight the low gin clear water.  The name of the game right now is huge attractor patterns or tiny subtle patterns to get bites, whether that be blob eggs to size 8 McFly foam eggs but for the most part the key is fishing lighter line such as 10 lb. to get bites more often.  The rigs my clients and myself...

It's that time of the year again, the Salmon are back and are in full swing of things. Rivers across the state are filled with Kings and Cohos on their yearly trip to spawn. For rivers local to Grand Rapids ( Rogue, and the Grand) we have found a perfect drift with an indicator set up has been the ticket to landing kings, Cohos, and browns! Happy Monday everyone, we hope you had a fun and safe trout opener this weekend. Heading head first into this week and weekend, there should be some really productive fishing happening in the next couple weeks, from the looks of it the weather is going to be really nice to us next week with temps reaching highs close to 80 degrees. With all that warm weather coming the trout should be on the hunt due to the river temps that could possibly reach close to 60 degrees across the state. With that for all the Dry Fly guys and gals...
