Grand Rapids Fishing Report, Grand River Fishing Report, Michigan Steelhead Fishing Report, Pere Marquette River Fishing Report, Rogue River Fishing Report -

March 2nd, 2023

Another week of mixed weather here in GR. We got a load of rain early in the week followed by a couple of nice and relatively warm days. But it looks like winter is going to rear its ugly head again tomorrow with several inches of snow in the forecast.

After this weeks rain and snow melt, rivers are running high and dirty around here. As I write this the Grand River is over 9000 cfs in Grand Rapids. The Rogue is above 700 cfs but appears to have crested. High water will make wading tricky this weekend so exercise caution if you are getting out. The Grand River will continue to rise over the weekend, and if we get the precipitation that is forecasted, the Rogue will be back on the rise after tomorrow.

The good news is that all this rain, and the warmer weather behind it should really kick the steelhead fishing into overdrive. Things have been good over the last week as fresh fish continue to show up and push upstream. I would expect things to get going very early this year and go fast. Come see us at the shop, or give us a call for the latest conditions, fishing report, and hot flies.

New to steelhead fishing or just getting into it and eager to learn more? Come to our FREE steelhead 101 class next Tuesday March 7th at our GR location. RSVP to save your seat below!
